GIRAFFE : Anne Innis Dagg’s tallest passion
Did you know that one of the world’s greatest giraffologists was canadian?
Anne Innis Dagg devoted her life to the study of these fascinating animals. A pioneer in free-ranging giraffe research, she left her mark on the history of both zoology and feminist science.
Enter her world as you climb aboard “Camelo”, her safari car, and be amazed by these enigmatic giants. Their long necks and high legs enable them to graze on the most inaccessible leaves and to see far. Their size also poses challenges such as sending blood to the brain, while avoiding the inflow when they lower their heads to drink! Ossicones on their heads, long blue tongues and unique patterns on their bodies, giraffes are impressive.

An exhibition conceived by The Museum and the Anne Innis Dagg Foundation and adapted by the Musée de la nature et des sciences de Sherbrooke, thanks to a financial contribution from the Government of Canada.
