The best stories are told once the sun has set, when mysteries abound and your mind is all set to go a roller coaster of emotions.

Wander in The Worlds of the Night’s dusky ambience and meet nocturnal animals that are out and about while you sleep. Obviously, you won’t catch a wink of sleep tonight!

The bedroom

As the gateway to the exhibition, the bedroom prepares you for the adventure by introducing many concepts: the biological clock, the various sleep phases, and night-vision. Are you sure you’re not in the midst of a hallucination?

The Night maze

Wander through the night and meet nocturnal animals from all around the world. Buckle up, this will be a rollercoaster of emotions!

Fear

Oh no… tiny creatures from the dark have invaded your home! You might jump out of your skin when coming face-to-face with small rodents, insects, spiders, bats, and a scorpion make good use of your belongings. Reveal their true nature.

Enjoyment

Around a bend of this mysterious maze, kids will be delighted to meet and play with fluffy stuffed nocturnal animals from the desert. Now that the sun is set, the animals can leave their burrows. Many unexpected encounters await: aardvarks, bilbies, African jerboas, fennec foxes, and caracals.

Surprises

Let yourself get amazed by strange shadows and unusual sounds… Unearth some amazing adaptations made by living beings to survive in the worlds of the night. Animal species have favoured some senses over others. You’ll experience how snakes see you with the help of a thermal camera.

Awe

Travel to polar realms with their awe-inspiring northern lights. While sitting safely at the bow of a boat, take a trip to the bottom of a grotto, surrounded by glowing worms and discover the  amazing phenomenom that is bioluminescence. Watch the night sky free of light pollution and see how much life really needs the night
