Elpi: Our origins 375 million years ago

From December 5, 2023 to January 27, 2024

Aimed at young people of all ages, the new exhibition presents a strange animal that has now disappeared: the Elpistostege watsoni, a half-fish, half-terrestrial beast, whose fossilized remains have been found in the cliffs of Miguasha, on the Gaspé Peninsula. Bonus: a scientifically accurate, to-scale reconstruction of Elpi!

Come and learn as much as the specialists about your distant aquatic ancestor who was about to conquer dry land.

This exhibition was developed with the financial support of the Fonds de Recherche du Québec as part of the Dialogue program.
